Default Building my own computer...fans and heatsinks, i little help?

well...i know quite a bit about computer components....until it comes down to what fan/heat sinks i want to buy. I know i want a fan and not water cooling(i have spent quite a few hours researching them both and have come to this conclusion, only after weighing pros and cons of each)
but well, heres my computer that is just over 1k to purchase, cost of the fans is irrelevant as long as it keeps my computer cool. i work at a computer repair place so i see how many peoples computers get screwed over due to not proper cooling.

the main one that i need to focus on the the processor cooling.

I know its a UK based site, but you could try and ask for support from http://www.buildyourown.org.uk in the forums. I'm about to order a whole new computer soon and they helped a lot with compatibility and what parts are good, etc.

exetremeoverclocking.com is good site for overclocking info, but always do a search first they will tear you a new one for not searching.

im not overclocking, im not that desperate for a bit more performance out of my computer
with the components im getting overclocking will make little difference
especially if i decide to upgrade to the 8800 gtx
still deciding if its rite for me

but that freezer 64 looks like what all take

any opinions on the 8800 gtx vs gts(320) vs gts(640)

the 640MB GTS is supposed to be better if you use a high resolution, otherwise it isn't that much faster than the 320MB. 8800GTX is of course faster, but that depends whether you want to spend the couple hundred extra to get it.

there's a couple things i'm wondering though...

1 - wheres the power supply?
2 - why paying so much for RAM? there are cheaper alternatives like crucial, corsair, etc, less than $100.
3 - why AMD?
4 - why factory overclocked video card?

Thermalright ultra-120 and Thermalright ultra-120 Extreme are the two undisputed heatsinks all over the internet

http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm

They outperform every other heatsink in temperature

They are just so in demand that it's hard to find them in stock, especially the Extreme edition. Also worth noting that even if this is the KING of all heatsinks, check compatibility and if you need to get an additional clip for your cpu type, I have to since im using the older 939 socket.

I use the Freezer Pro64 but not the AS5 paste! For the paste I'm using the Arctic MX-1 non-metallic paste. In my opinion it's way more effective than AS5.

1. i ausume the top back
2. why pay so much for ram! are you serious. imo thats the most important component on the computer, and it takes by far the most abusive, aside from the processor. u cant slack on ram PERIOD. and u must also realize that thats 2 sticks of ram not one...so that was a more cost effective solution. lol but i like the brand of ram
3. amd currently is out performing and doing better the intel. for intel u pay now to much due to its name, for less.
4. what factory overclocked card, the gtx ultra is the overclocked one not the gts's or gtx

1. i meant you don't have a power supply in your list of parts.
2. power supply should be most important, not ram. if you insist on paying extra for the kingston name, go for it. it's good ram anyways. just saying there's cheaper alternatives that would have the same performance/reliability.
3. intel's actually ahead of amd right now. i still think a e6420 with a P35 chipset motherboard is a better choice.
4. factory overclocked means your card is already overclocked when you get it. if you look closely, newegg has three eVGA 8800GTS 640MB, each with different clockspeeds. however, it seems that newegg raised the price of the stock 8800GTS in the last two days, so getting the slightly slower card isn't going to save much money now.

ah i see what you are saying
1. OMFG, thanks on that one
dunno what happened to it...i had one in there mustve removed it by accident
2.the price difference between kingston and other brands was very minimal, so i came to the conclusion that i would pay extra 5 bucks for the kingston name
3. intel and amd, i have had great expieriences with both companies, lucky me. and the p35, im not so fond of, found a few to many bad reviews around. but it still is an opinions. the difference between amd and intel these days comes down to a matter of opinion as who is better changes almost daily!
4. PSHT, i know what it is lol

You realise that for an extra £10 ($20) you could get the Athlon64 X2 6000+ 'Windsor'.
